How to apply

Phoenixville Area School District has its own application process. Here’s exactly how it works:

Obtain the required Pennsylvania clearances, each less than 12 months old when you apply:
- Act 34 PA Criminal Background Check (free once every 5 years via PA Access to Criminal History)
- Act 151 PA Child Abuse Background Check (free once every 5 years via the PA Child Abuse Clearance portal)
- FBI Federal Criminal History Check via IdentoGO — OR, if you have been a PA resident for 10+ consecutive years, sign the Volunteer Affirmation form instead. Coaches and overnight chaperones must get the FBI clearance regardless of residency.
Complete the district's online volunteer application (AppliTrack) linked from the district volunteers page and upload your clearances.
Your name is submitted for the next month's School Board approval; once approved you may volunteer at any district school.
Clearances are valid for 5 years; volunteer status renews automatically each year. Questions: Human Resources, 484-927-5000.
